POP THE BUBBLY, IT IS TIME TO CELEBRATE THE BRIDE-TO-BE!
We have made a list of some of our personal fav's when it comes to stationery that will be sure to impress your guests and give your bride-to-be the Bridal Shower of her dreams!
I get this question A LOT! So here is everything you need to know about RSVP's!
So, when should I ask my guests to reply by? Short answer: 6 weeks prior to your wedding date. Why?
Set the RSVP deadline two weeks before you actually need the responses to arrive. Most guests will feel good if their response is simply postmarked by the reply date, as the taxman has trained us to do… really, 4 weeks is sufficient however the extra 2 weeks will allow you the extra time to track them down to get their response!
If you’re using mail RSVP cards, make sure you include a pre-addressed and pre-stamped return envelope with adequate postage. Hint: do not pre stamp RSVP envelopes going out of the country! They will need to stamp their own to send it back to Canada!
Another helpful tip - create a list of all of your guests (you probably already have one made in excel!) and give each guest or family a number. Write the number (very small) on the back of the RSVP card before sending it out. When you receive your RSVP's back in the mail, and you cannot read uncle John's handwriting or someone simply didn't bother to put their name... (who is this?!) you can turn the card around and know exactly who it came from!
Lastly.. PLAN AHEAD!
Don’t wait until three days before your catering numbers or seating chart spreadsheet is due to start calling everyone in panic. Add some calendar invites to remind yourself when to send the first gentle reminder and when to start picking up the phone and dialing. Another sanity-saver is to build in some buffer for the unexpected yay or nay. Expect one or two guests to drop out at the last minute and one or two others to call at last minute and ask whether they can still come. If you are mentally and logistically prepared for this to happen, it will be less stressful when it does!
This is no doubt a tough one!
There are SO MANY different ways to write a wedding invitation and RSVP card for so many different scenarios! We have created a list and we have tried to cover each base for you! However, if you still don't really know what to write, we are always happy to help!

When should you book your #stationery consultation? Once you have booked your venue + chose your theme (colours, overall feel for your wedding) - this is when you should start thinking about your stationery. Your invitation will be your guests first glimpse of what to expect on your #wedding day which will create anticipation of what is to come! There are some important key dates to send your Save the Dates, Invitations & when your RSVP deadline should be....
Save the Dates should be sent out 6-8 Months prior to your wedding day. This means you should meet with your stationery designer 9-12 months prior to your wedding.
Wedding Invitations should be sent out 3 months prior to your wedding. Some invitation suites can take up to 4-6 months to complete, so book you appointments early :)
RSVP Deadline should be 4-6 weeks prior to your wedding. 6 weeks to give you a couple of extra weeks to track down some guest responses!
We were asked by luxeventrental to give some insight into our world! here it is:
I grew up loving arts and crafts. Stationery and paper goods were something I loved when I was a kid; I have always made my own cards. Eventually, I realized stationery design was the perfect mix of graphic design and illustration that I was looking for and I fell in love; and thus Hashtag Paper evolved.
Describe your style
Stationery design is all about adapting to your clients personal style- so this would be variable. Your invitation plants the first seed for what's to come. Weddings today are all about creating your personal style and it all begins with the invitation design. Creating a personal theme or cohesive aesthetic is the best way to do that. We recommend to our clients to start by making a list of what excites you (and don’t be shy – write everything that comes to mind). Whether it be your wedding venue, location, an element that you love about the two of you, how you met, or the places you’ve traveled together, anything can create a theme. Once you have your list, think about how you can carry that through into all the details of your wedding day. For my own wedding, I loved glamour and my husband preferred a classic look, so we went with a traditional black tie event with just the right amount of sparkle. It was very much an intimate feast with family and friends, a dream come true.
At Hashtag Paper we believe our invite options are endless. We start with a blank canvas and work with our clients in creating a complete custom invitation suite and to follow, all other wedding stationery. We offer many different options and colours of cardstock, laser cut pockets, thermography and foil printing, the options do really seem endless!
Envelopes are a part of your invitation that we believe should not be overlooked. Our envelopes vary from a beautiful cotton matte finish, a pearlescent shimmer or even textured wood grain. They come in an array of colours to make your invitation pop when your guests open their mail box! We also offer envelope addressing, which pairs your envelope and invitation fonts for that extra touch!
Your favourite design
I love art-inspired invitations using watercolor, also laser cut printing is incredible, elegant, and intricate. These options are both stunning.
What makes your stationery unique
You only have one chance to make the right impression with your invitations and I love making my clients look amazing on paper. Each invitation is custom designed for our client. It’s all about personalization, style and confidence. Three key components that make for great invitations! Pair it with thermography or foil printing, laser cut pocket and great graphic design and you are going to have one jaw dropping invitation!
Do you offer more then wedding stationery
I do! And that’s the best part about HashtagPaper, it’s bringing together a cohesive and branded stationery package for the couple. I love starting at the beginning with invitations and then moving forward to create matching table numbers, menus, wedding signage, seating charts, programs & place cards. Really, if you have an idea.. I want to help you design it! Whether it’s your wedding invitations, business cards, personal stationery, home décor it’s all part of your life’s brand image.
We always work with each client to suit their budget. There are so many options to help facilitate budgets, so no matter what your budget is, we promise to create a beautiful design and create something you will love.
